Can I remove or terminate a benefit?

You may be able to remove or terminate a benefit if termination is permitted and an open benefit window is available.

How do I remove or terminate a benefit?

  1. Navigate to My Benefits.
  2. Open the benefit you wish to remove.
  3. Review the benefit details.
  4. Select Terminate Benefit at the bottom of the page (if available).

Note: The Terminate Benefit button will only appear if the benefit is eligible for termination.

Why can't I see the Terminate Benefit option?

The Terminate Benefit button may not be available because:

  • The benefit is contractual and you're committed for a fixed period.
  • The benefit type does not allow termination.
  • Termination is not currently available outside an open benefit window.

If you're unsure why a benefit cannot be terminated, please contact your HR or Benefits team for guidance.

Final Step: Review & Confirm

Terminating a benefit creates a pending change and does not automatically update your benefits package.

To complete the termination:

  1. Select Review & Confirm.
  2. Review the pending change.
  3. Accept the Terms & Conditions.
  4. Select Confirm Benefit Selection.

Once submitted, the termination request will be processed and your benefits package will be updated.

Important: If you do not complete the Review & Confirm process before the benefit window closes, the termination will not be submitted and the benefit will remain active. While the window remains open, you can return and review, amend, or confirm your pending changes at any time.
