We aim to make managing your benefits as quick and easy as possible. For certain life events, you can report the change yourself through the employee portal without needing an administrator to make the update for you.

What Is a Life Event?

A life event is a significant change in your personal circumstances that may affect your benefits.
Common life events include:

  • Marriage or civil partnership
  • Divorce or separation
  • Birth or adoption of a child
  • Death of a dependant

Can I Report a Life Event Myself?

If self-service life events are enabled for your organisation, you can report certain life events directly through the employee portal.

When you report a life event, a life event window will open automatically, allowing you to review and update your benefit selections.

Please note:

  • Not all life events can be reported by employees.
  • Some organisations may not have this feature enabled.
  • If the option is unavailable, you'll need to contact your HR or Benefits team to request the change.

Where Do I Report a Life Event?

There are two ways to report a life event.

From the Homepage

  1. Go to the homepage.
  2. Select Notify next to the relevant life event, such as Marriage.
  3. A View My Benefits button will appear.
  4. Select View My Benefits to go directly to the My Benefits page and make your changes.

From the Life Events Page

  1. Open the main menu using the arrow in the top-right corner.
  2. Select Life Events.

What Will I See on the Life Events Page?

The Life Events page displays the life events you can report yourself.

You'll only see:

  • Life events available for employee self-service.
  • Life events that are not already open.

You cannot report the same life event more than once at the same time.

What Happens After I Select a Life Event?

Once you select a life event:

  • A benefits window will open automatically.
  • You can access My Benefits to review and update your benefit selections.
  • You can select Make changes to my benefits to go directly to your available benefit choices.

How Do I Complete My Changes?

After updating your benefits, you'll need to complete the Review and Confirm process to submit your changes.
Your updates will not be processed until they have been reviewed and confirmed.
