If you're not currently enrolled in the workplace pension, you may be able to request to join through the employee portal.
There are several reasons why you might not currently be enrolled, including:
- You're within a postponement period.
- You do not currently meet the eligibility criteria for automatic enrolment.
- You've previously opted out of the pension scheme.
Even if you aren't eligible for automatic enrolment, you may still have the right to opt in or voluntarily join the pension scheme, depending on your circumstances.
Important: This article applies only if your organisation uses the platform's Auto Enrolment functionality to manage pensions.
How Do I Request to Join the Pension Scheme?
- Log in to the employee portal.
- Locate the Pension section on the homepage.
- Select Pension Information to view your pension details.
- On the pension details page, select Request to Join.
Your request will then be submitted for processing.
What Happens After I Request to Join?
Once you've submitted your request:
- Your request will be reviewed and processed.
- You'll be notified when enrolment has been completed.
- Your pension details in the portal will be updated to reflect your new status.
Can I Cancel My Request to Join?
Yes. If your request has not yet been processed, you can withdraw it.
To do this, select Cancel Request to Join from your pension details page.
Once your request has been cancelled, no further action will be taken unless you submit a new request.
Please note: Once your request has been processed and you have been enrolled in the pension scheme, you can no longer cancel the request.
If you wish to leave the pension after enrolment, you'll need to follow your organisation's pension opt-out or pension membership cessation process instead. Refer to the relevant pension guidance in the portal or contact your HR or Benefits team for further assistance.
