Auto-Enrolment
Auto-enrolment is a government initiative, whereby all employers in the UK must put certain staff into a workplace pension.

Ceased Membership
When an employee leaves a pension outside of an opt out period, they are considered to have ceased membership.

State Pension Age
This is the age at which you are eligible to claim State Pension, which varies depending on your gender and date of birth.

Opt Out
If you have been enrolled in the pension scheme (either automatically or by choosing to opt in early), you still have the option to leave.
You can opt out within one month of joining the scheme. If you do so within this period, any contributions you’ve made will usually be refunded in full. For confirmation or further details, please contact your HR or Benefits team.

Postponement
Your employer can delay enrolling you into a pension scheme for up to three months. If this applies, they will write to you to let you know.
Postponement may be used when:
- You first join the company, or
- You become eligible for automatic enrolment

Worker Category
Your Worker Category is determined by your employer as part of their assessment and is used to identify your eligibility for certain benefits, such as pensions.
You will fall into one of the following categories:
- Worker
- Entitled Worker
- Non-Eligible Jobholder
- Eligible Jobholder
Your category is based on factors such as your age and earnings, and it helps determine what options are available to you within your benefits.
