How to Access Previous Conversations and Begin a New Chat

Your conversations with the AI Benefits Consultant are saved automatically, and they follow you — sign in on any device and your history is there.

Your HR team cannot open your conversations, and there is nothing in their system that shows them what you asked. Their system does record that the consultant answered you and when — not what you asked or what it said. Your employer can also request a copy of a conversation from Zest in writing, which is handled case by case.

Viewing your history

  1. Open the chat and tap ‘View Your Chat History’ at the bottom of the chat.
  1. Your conversations are listed with the most recent first, grouped into today's conversations and previous ones.
Tap any conversation to reopen it. You can carry on chatting in any conversation — nothing is locked.

If live human support chat is available on your portal, you'll also see a filter to show AI conversations, support conversations, or both. Conversations that went to the support team are marked with a small label.

The out-of-date information warning

When you reopen a conversation from a previous day, you'll see a warning banner at the top.

Take it seriously: benefit information depends on dates. Enrolment windows open and close, costs change, and eligibility can too.

The banner is based on the age of the conversation, not the answer. It appears on anything from a previous day — even if the answer is still correct — and it will *not* appear on a conversation from earlier today, even if something has changed since. If an older answer matters to a decision you're making now, start a **new chat** and ask again, so the consultant checks against today's information.

Starting a new chat

Tap ‘New chat’ at the bottom of the chat. You'll get a fresh conversation, and the previous one stays in ‘History’.

Start a new chat when you switch topics, and whenever you're re-checking something time-sensitive.

Picking up where you left off

Come back within about half an hour of your last message and today's conversation resumes automatically. Away longer, and the chat opens fresh — but nothing is lost. Every earlier conversation is still in ‘History’, ready to reopen.

If you're part-way through typing when that happens, copy your message before signing back in.

Can I delete a conversation?

There's no delete button for individual conversations at the moment. Conversations are kept for 12 months, still linked to you, and then deleted — sooner if your data is removed from the platform, for example after you leave your employer or on a data-erasure request (asking for your personal data to be deleted).
