Everything in one place, including the consultant's limits and what to do if something doesn't work as expected.
Limits at a glance
Message length
Messages can be up to 2,000 characters long.
Session length
If you return within around 30 minutes of sending your last message, your conversation will usually resume where you left off.
Conversation history
Conversations are retained for 12 months and remain linked to your account during that time. They are deleted sooner if your data is removed from the platform.
Languages
The AI Benefits Consultant has been fully tested in English. The AI model supports multiple languages, but responses in other languages may vary and have not been fully tested.
What it can read
The consultant can access:
- Text on your benefit pages
- Text on information pages
- Policy documents linked from those pages
What it can't read
The consultant cannot access:
- Text embedded within images
- Scanned documents that cannot be read digitally
- Video content
Content updates
New or updated content is usually available to the consultant within a few minutes of being saved by your HR team.
Chat history
Your chat history is available across any device you sign in on.
Individual conversations cannot currently be deleted.
Troubleshooting
The answer stopped halfway through
Ask the question again.
Don't rely on a partially completed answer, as important information such as exclusions, conditions, or limitations could be missing.
The chat button isn't visible
Refresh the page and try again.
If the chat button is still missing, your employer may not have enabled the AI Benefits Consultant. Contact your HR team for assistance.
My message won't send
Try the following:
- Check your internet connection.
- Shorten your message if it's very long.
- Navigate to another page and try again, as this may refresh your session.
Remember that messages are limited to 2,000 characters.
I was signed out while typing
Copy your message before signing back in.
Your conversation from earlier in the day should still be available in your chat history.
The consultant won't answer my question
A safety check may have prevented a response.
This doesn't mean you've done anything wrong. No alert is sent to your employer, and nothing is added to your record.
Try rewording your question and asking again.
It can't find information I know exists
The content may not be available in a format that the consultant can read.
Let your HR team know so they can review and update the content if needed.
It answered about the wrong benefit
The consultant can search benefits you're eligible for, not just benefits you're currently enrolled in.
Try asking a more specific question, for example:
"What does my dental plan cover?"
If the answer could affect a decision you're making, check the details with your HR team.
The answer doesn't include a "Sources:" section
Answers based on your employer's content include a Sources: reference.
If an answer doesn't include a source, treat it as general guidance and check the information before relying on it.
Still need help?
Ask the AI Benefits Consultant:
"How do I contact HR?"
The consultant will provide your HR team's contact details.
If you can't access the consultant, contact your HR team using the same channels you would normally use for benefits or payroll queries.
