When you open a benefit in the employee portal, you'll be able to view information about the benefit, your current selection, and any actions available to you.
The information shown may vary depending on the benefit, your eligibility, and whether a benefit window is currently open.
What can I see when I open a benefit?
Most benefits include two main sections:
- Benefit Information
- Your Benefit Selection
You may also see additional sections such as:
- Dependants
- Beneficiaries
- Additional questions
- Terms and Conditions
Benefit Information
The Benefit Information section explains what the benefit is, how it works, and any important information you need to know before making a selection.
Depending on how the benefit has been configured, you may also be able to access:
- Supporting documents
- External resources and websites
- Provider contact information
Your Benefit Selection
The Your Benefit Selection section shows your current benefit selection and any choices available to you for that benefit. Depending on the benefit, this may include:
- Your selected level of cover
- The cost of the benefit
- How the cost is deducted from your pay
If the benefit offers multiple options, this is the section where you can review and select the option that best meets your needs.
Where changes are allowed, you may also be able to:
- Review the available options
- Change your selection
- Add or remove a benefit
If a benefit window is not currently open, or the benefit cannot be changed, this section will be displayed as view-only.
Additional Benefit Information
Some benefits may include additional sections to help manage your cover and personal information, such as:
- Dependants
- Beneficiaries
- Data capture questions
- Terms and Conditions
The sections displayed will depend on the benefit and how it has been configured by your employer.
If additional information is required to process your selection, you will be prompted to complete the relevant details before you can continue. This helps ensure your benefit is set up correctly and includes all the information needed to provide the appropriate level of cover.
Review and Confirm Your Changes
If you add, remove, or update a benefit selection, you must complete the Review & Confirm step before your changes will be submitted.
The Review & Confirm page allows you to:
- Review your benefit selections
- Check any costs associated with your choices
- Confirm the changes you want to make
Changes are not saved automatically. If you leave the portal without completing the Review & Confirm step, your updates may not be processed.
Once you have reviewed your selections, select Confirm to submit your changes.
Important: Any benefit selections or changes will only take effect once they have been completed and confirmed through the Review & Confirm process.
