Why am I seeing this message?
Some benefits in Zest are linked (or related), which means they need to be selected together in a specific order.
For example:
- You may need to select Critical Illness for yourself before you can select Partner Critical Illness
If these requirements aren’t met, you’ll see an error message or validation warning in the portal.
What you’ll see in your portal
If a benefit is linked to another, you may notice:
- An information message explaining the relationship between benefits
- A red benefit tile indicating that action is required
- A validation message if you try to select a benefit that doesn’t meet the rules
For example, if you try to select a partner benefit without selecting the main benefit first, you’ll see a message explaining what’s missing, for example:
You must select Critical Illness for yourself first to select this benefit.
What you need to do
To resolve the error:
- Review any messages shown on the benefit page
- Select or update the required main benefit (i.e. Employee Critical Illness)
- Follow any on-screen guidance
Once you’ve made the necessary selections or changes, the error will clear and you can continue.
