Why am I seeing this message?

Some benefits in Zest are linked (or related) and include rules about how they can be selected - particularly around levels of cover.
For example:

  • Your partner’s level of cover may not be higher than your own

If these rules aren’t met, you’ll see an error message or validation warning in the portal.

What you’ll see in your portal

If a linked benefit doesn’t meet the required rules, you may notice:

  • The benefit tile highlighted in red
  • A message explaining what needs to be changed

For example, if your partner’s cover exceeds your own, you may see a message like:

Your selection must not exceed 75,000 based on your selection of Employee Critical Illness, within Employee Critical Illness.

What you need to do

To resolve the error:

  • Review the message displayed on the benefit page
  • Adjust your cover level (or your partner’s) so it meets the allowed limits
  • Follow any on-screen guidance

Once you’ve made the necessary changes, the error will clear and you can continue.
